Victorian Treasurer

Applications are now open for the position of Treasurer on the Executive of UN Youth Victoria. This is a volunteer role with an average time commitment of 10 hours per week. No prior experience with UN Youth, or knowledge of the United Nations, is required. Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age.

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial management and strategic supervision of the organisation. They must practice financial record keeping and must be prepared to report every transaction to and from the organisation – typically through the Xero accounting software. The Treasurer must also, together with the Secretary, report to relevant government agencies and prepare financial records every financial year. More generally, the Treasurer must provide financial oversight, and support Convenors in their invoicing and receiving efforts. Additionally, the Treasurer must look to collect outstanding fees and draft the annual divisional budget.

UN Youth Victoria is the Victorian division of UN Youth Australia, a national youth-led organisation that aims to educate and empower young Australians on global issues facing the world. Our broad range of sector-leading peer-education programs educate over 15,000 young Australians each year from across every state and territory.
