Applications are now open for the position of Strategy & Partnerships Director on the Victorian Executive, the leadership body of UN Youth Victoria, a Division of UN Youth Australia. Victorian Executive vacancies represent amazing opportunities to be part of the team that leads the operations of a youth-led organisation that provide educational and interactive internationally-focused events for young people in Victoria.

All members must be between the ages of 18 to 25 (inclusive) at the time of their appointment and eligible for Associate Membership of UN Youth Victoria. They must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Working With Children Check (WWCC) or state and territory equivalent.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional person between the ages of 18 and 25 to be the Strategy & Partnerships Director for UN Youth Victoria in 2021. This position is one of the newest in the Victorian Executive and provides many opportunities to develop and form a newly-created portfolio. The main objectives of the role are:

  • Maintaining existing partnerships
  • Cultivating new partnerships
  • Mapping out the organisation’s ongoing strategy and long-term goals (in collaboration with the Victorian President)

This role plays a vital part in the operation of the division and has a drastic impact on the reach UN Youth Victoria has, both throughout the state and nationally.

As our ideal candidate, you have strong interpersonal skills, and you’re great at professional communication. You have a very strong understanding of the organisation’s core values, inspirations and purposes, as well as a fundamental understanding of how it operates.

Your primary focus will be developing and maintaining partnerships with community and corporate organisations. You’re passionate about boosting our community engagement and increasing potential sponsorship for our key events.

The Victorian Strategy & Partnerships Director is expected to demonstrate the following core competencies:

You have the ability to see the bigger picture and pursue overall goals as well as connect and engage with new and existing organisational partners. You excel in organisational planning and strict adherence to deadlines.

You have the ability to take initiative to tackle problems independently, as well as within a team, and to overcome hurdles in an innovative and well thought out manner.

You have the ability to plan and develop ideas for the future, as well as foresee future challenges that may arise.

Communication
You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and can effectively communicate ideas, feedback and instructions with clarity and professionalism.

  • Time Commitment: 12 hours per week and weekly meetings

  • Key Relationships: Victorian President, Programs Director, Competitions Director, Chief Development Officer (UN Youth Australia)

About UN Youth Victoria

UN Youth Victoria is a division of UN Youth Australia, a national youth-led organisation that aims to educate and empower young Australians on global issues. UN Youth Australia is run entirely by a team of over 1,000 dedicated volunteers aged between 16 and 25. Appointment
